Necromunda: Halls of the Ancients

Greetings one and all

It's only a quick one today, but as there’s a new big release for Necromunda, I’ll be summing up all the new stuff that the Ironhead Squat Prospectors will be getting. So, let’s get on with it.

Necromunda: Halls of the Ancients

So it turns out that it's not just the major houses that get their own book anymore. The Iornhead Squats are getting one too, and this 128 pg book will be packed with new lore, an expanded gang roster, updated rules, and Two Iornhead Squat-specific scenarios.

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing what those cute little robots the Techmites are capable of.

The Svenotar Scout Trike

For us grey beards (okay, I might not count yet but my beard is greying), the Svenotar Scout Trike is a welcome sight. With twin linked hard points, three wheels and one hairy biker (triker?), these models are a great throwback to how the Squats used to be, and I love them…. God I wish the Votann had followed this influence.

Exo-Kyn

Much like Terminator armour, the Exo-Kyn suit was originally built for hostile environments. So of course, they would be perfect for combat as they’re armed with a mixture of excavator hammers, rock saws, hydraulic drills, and storm-welders (or basically, mining tools). It’s little surprise then that if they can cut through rock, flesh and steel won't be any problem.

The kit also comes with the Techmite Exovator 078B, which is a little mining robot.

Ironhead Squat Prospectors Weapons & Upgrades

What big gang release would be complete with a weapon upgrade box?

In this case, your getting quite a bit. 12 heads, 4 hand flamers, 4 axes, 4 power pack mounts, 2 flamers, 2 meltaguns, 2 autopistols, 2 stub guns, 2 mining lasers, 2 photo lumens, 2 holstered pistols, 2 heavy flamers, 2 two-handed power axe/power picks, 2 arc welders, 2 gem extractors, and 2 circular stone saws.

The thing that's struck me though is the sheer amount of flame weapons in this pack. In terms of variety, I don't think it's the best upgrade kit but it certainly adds to the Ironhead Squats.

And that's that. I'm sure Build Monkey will write an updated gang review soon, but until then, I'll see you next time.
